Meet Our Groomers

Shauna

My name is Shauna Thompson. I am 44 years old and a single mom of one magnificent young man about to graduate from Central High School with honors in both academic and Technical studies. I am also a single mom of 4 furry family members: 2 dogs, Frank (14yrs old) and Kahlua(2 yrs); 2 cats, Flash (12) and Sky{10). I was born and raised in Warrick County, which is where I started my grooming career in 1999. I started as an intern, and had Cindy Ballard as my mentor and instructor, and worked at her grooming and boarding facility in Newburgh. She taught me that the key to being a successful groomer is by having a thorough understanding for canine behavior and anatomy and applying that knowledge to the grooming process. She also taught me that the first and foremost important part of grooming, is making sure that the dogs are comfortable and healthy.

I have contracted my services thru multiple grooming shops in the tristate area over the last 25 years and I have met, learned from, and trained MANY great groomers along the way. Most of my students have gone on to compete in grooming competitions, open their own grooming businesses, or have moved to bigger cities to become grooming instructors themselves. I have been pet first aid and CPR certified thru the Red Cross and have worked with many animal rescue organizations and dog trainers throughout my career.  I continue to study and expand my grooming knowledge and canine health education.

I have lived on the North side of Evansville since 2013, so I am very excited to be here at Pet Food Center North where I expect to see a lot of familiar faces and very excited to meet more wonderful people and their furry families too.
